Physical Appearance: White crystalline powder or needle-like crystals with a faint phenolic odor. Slightly soluble in water, freely soluble in alcohol and ether.
Applications: Used in cosmetics and pharmaceuticals as a keratolytic and exfoliating agent for acne and skin treatment products. Also applied as a preservative and antiseptic, and serves as an intermediate in dye, fragrance, and agrochemical synthesis.
